chemistry major and Logger football quarterback Hayden Teeter ’26 has earned a nomination for the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. The award recognizes college football student-athletes for their commitment to community service and leadership off the field.

“Hayden represents everything that’s right about college football,” said Puget Sound Head Coach Jeff Thomas, who nominated Teeter. “He leads with humility, serves with consistency, and shows our younger players what it means to use their platform for something bigger than the game. We’re proud of the impact he’s making, on and off the field.”

The Allstate and American Football Coaches Association award acknowledges players making significant impacts through their volunteer efforts across all NCAA divisions and the NAIA. This year, nominees are addressing critical issues such as youth mentorship, mental wellness, homelessness, and healthcare access.

Teeter is a standout student and player. For the past three years, he has received the university's Tim McDonough Community Service Award and served as a leader for Young Life/Home Puget Sound for three years. He says the program creates a vital “third space” for youth and fosters authentic connections among students. He has also volunteered at Operation Night Watch in downtown Seattle, where he provided food and companionship to those experiencing homelessness.

“Selfishly, community service is very rewarding,” Teeter said. “It’s rewarding work and it is really hard, but I think hard things produce a lot of fruit and they’re needed.”

This summer, Teeter is participating in the Quarterbacks vs. Cancer program, giving private football lessons to middle and high school students, with proceeds benefiting families of children battling cancer. Additionally, Teeter is an active member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) at both the school and conference levels.

The final roster of 23 award recipients will be announced in September.
