Hwa Nan Teaching Fellowship

Hwa Nan Women's College is a three-year professional school in Fuzhou, a port city in Fujian province, China. The Hwa Nan Teaching Fellowship supports recent female Puget Sound graduates for a ten-month appointment as a teacher of English conversation and composition at Hwa Nan Women's College. The instructorship involves residence at the College for the academic year and teaching in the Department of Applied Languages. Miki Memorial Scholar Award

The Miki Memorial Scholar Award provides funds to a Puget Sound graduate for tuition and fees, as well as homestay housing and roundtrip airfare, for twelve months of intensive Japanese language study at the Kyoto Institute of Culture and Language (KICL). Trimble Student Research Grant

Students who are declared Asian Studies minors, or majors in Chinese or Japanese, are eligible for the Trimble Student Research Grant. The fellowship provides a $5,000 grant to support student research in or related to Asia. The Charles Garnet Trimble Fund provides funding for this fellowship. To be considered for a Trimble Student Research Grant, students must first apply for a University Summer Research Award.
