ADVISING AT REGISTRATION

Continuing students

All continuing students must meet with their faculty advisor before each registration period to review academic progress and receive personalized course planning support. This meeting is required to lift the registration hold placed by the Registrar. For help with PeopleSoft, contact Technology Services; Academic Advising is also available for additional support.

Incoming first-year and new transfer students

All new students receive extra support with registration. First-time college students select tentative courses over the summer using the Academic Placement Questionnaire (APQ). Academic Advising reviews these tentative schedules before releasing them in July. During Passages week, you鈥檒l meet with your faculty and peer advisors to finalize your fall schedule. Course changes aren鈥檛 allowed until these advising meetings take place. Your advisors will contact you during Passages to schedule your individual meeting.

In preparation for spring registration, your peer advisor will lead trainings and meetings in November to teach you how to use PeopleSoft. Advisors will also guide you on what to register for during Registration Planning Meetings (RPM), which your peer advisor coordinates.

New transfer students receive course planning and registration support from their faculty and peer advisors. Until a faculty advisor is assigned, transfers will work with Najhan Bell, the Undergraduate Advisor in Academic Advising.
