The Committee on Honorary Degrees seeks individuals whose accomplishments clearly merit extraordinary recognition with reference to the mission of the university and who have one or both of the following characteristics: notable academic reputation; record of outstanding contributions to the betterment of the regional, national, or global community through one of the main areas of public life such as business, government, education, public service, science, the arts, or religion.

In view of Puget Sound’s growing commitment to engagement with the broader community, nominees from the greater Tacoma area are especially welcome.
