Opening Reception for Mary Enoch Elizabeth Baxter, Artist in Residence
Reparenting the Figure: Temporal paradox, grief and repair
Award-winning interdisciplinary artist, Mary Enoch Elizabeth Baxter, will be on campus September 17-21st for her show's opening and to visit classes and meet students.
Baxter鈥檚 work seeks to interrogate connections between anti-blackness, women鈥檚 rights and systems neglect within social institutions and society at large. Thus, by centering the lived experiences of Black women and girls and reframing narratives of trauma, she creates nuanced stories about the collective fight for self-determination, communal healing and repair.
On view at the Kittredge Gallery Sept. 8th to October 18th.
