Elisa Frankel is a neurobiologist who investigates the molecular strategies neurons employ to build, remodel, and maintain synapses, which are connections essential to nervous system function. She teaches cell and molecular biology and mentors students in interdisciplinary research involving genome editing, fluorescence microscopy, and image-based analysis to study how synapses form and change over time.
